testimonials

"I have found that both Joseph and Jackie are exceptions to the common voice teacher model:  rather than simply passing what has “worked” for them, they both teach according to the specific needs and abilities of the singer.  Their technical approach is based on a keen understanding of the biomechanics and acoustics of singing, with a practical application that is both physically concrete and highly accessible to the singer.  This is merely complimented by their own musical and dramatic intuition that foster the singer’s fullest potential as a vocalist and artist. Considering their knowledge and experience in musical theater and classical repertoire, both teachers have a great versatility with a variety of singers. If you want to learn how to sing in a sustainable and satisfying way, I cannot recommend Jackie and Joseph enough."

Jeremy Aye, Adjunct Professor of Voice at New York University - Steinhardt

"When I came to Jackie, I was still recovering from damaging vocal habits.  I was amazed by how easy singing became again when she worked with me.  She ingrained healthy singing technique in me that is sustainable and lets my true voice come out.  Jackie is so intuitive and I can't help but learn something new every lesson about my instrument.  She also creates a space free of judgment and an atmosphere filled with curiosity.  Anyone would be lucky to have such a great teacher."

Stage/Film Actress, New York City

"Working with Joseph was such a positive, uplifting experience. Not only did he have a perfect understanding of good vocal technique, health, and maintenance, he had the patience and knowledge to be able to relate to the specific needs of his student. I left my lesson with so many helpful techniques for warming up and maintaining strong breath support. I would absolutely recommend Joseph to any of my friends."

"Having Jackie as my voice teacher was a blessing. She helped me develop a solid vocal foundation through healthy technique and gave me confidence in my voice I never thought capable. Jackie is so incredibly patient and I’ve never felt so comfortable in a lesson, thanks to her passion and kind nature. She never let me forget how proud she was of me.  I am forever grateful!"

Francesca McGinnis
Actress, New York City

“Joseph was my first voice teacher ever and there’s a reason I chose to keep him as my voice teacher for three and a half years (until he moved). He was patient and flexible enough for me to grow while additionally showing me potential I didn’t even know I had as a singer. Each lesson served as a natural progression to becoming a confident and well-trained vocalist.”

"Jackie is the perfect teacher for a person with no previous musical experience because she is patient. The process of learning and understanding your voice can be difficult, but Jackie often uses creative analogies to help you understand the exercise. This comes in handy when you need to adjust a technique or habit, since the process of singing is an internal one. Jackie's experience allows her to assess a situation and tailor it in a way that suites your voice but also provides a challenge."

"Joseph has helped me to find my true voice. I know that sounds trite, but before I started taking lessons with him, I did not have the ability to access my voice in a healthy and pure way. He was able to tap into what I needed as a vocalist, giving me exercises that resonated with me, and inspiring me to give myself permission to simply use my voice. Having Joseph as my teacher for the past several years has given me the confidence to trust in my singing ability. I would highly recommend him for anyone looking to understand and utilize the full potential of their voice."
